Spanish homes sold fully furnished

A leading Spanish property developer is offering the opportunity to Buy Spanish homes fully furnished and equipped to save buyers time and spare them unnecessary stress.

TM Grupo believes it has hit upon an area where the service offered to overseas property buyers could easily be improved, removing the need to communicate with Spanish salespeople about the price of sofas and other soft furnishings.

Often when people buy property abroad they are faced with an empty shell, requiring every room to be furnished before they can really feel at home.

The need to find local electricians and arrange for goods to be delivered to the door also adds to the potential problems posed by the language barrier.

TM Grupo is therefore offering property buyers a choice of modern or traditional furniture, included in the overall purchase price. The items can be selected from a catalogue at the time the deal is signed, and can be upgraded to other models if preferred.

Adrian Head, director of Mallorca-based Prestige Homes & Holidays in Mallorca, acting as agent for TM Grupo, described the move as "an innovative and a major step forward for purchasers".

"Completely furnishing and fitting out a new home is difficult at the best of times but in a foreign country where you don't know where to shop and can't speak the language it can be a nightmare," he said.

TM Grupo is currently constructing a development of two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments in Mallorca's Cala Antena, with a villa complex in Cala Murada also in the pipeline.

The Cala Antena properties start from €206,000 (£143,600) including furnishings, are already on sale, and should be complete by mid-2007.
