View Favourites This house was the Casa Principal of the village of Tajaste. It stands on the edge of an old volcanic crater, overlooking the sea and the islands beyond. It was restored to its present condition in 2002, and is now an official Casa Rural, and organic small-holding (on the adjoining land). It features in Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay in Spain, under the name Casa Cantarilla. It is presently run on a Bed-and-breakfast basis.
The house has three guest rooms, all ensuit and with independent entrances. There is a large reception room with a wood-burning stove. This room used to be the courtyard and has a high door through which camels would enter to be unloaded. There is a large dining room (seats 8-10), a large kitchen, and a back kitchen. There are two private bedroom-studies. There are patios on three sides of the house, a jakuzzi, a BBQ area with plunge pool, and a wood store.
Extensive gardens surround the house, and there is ample priivate parking. The house is situated on the edge of suelo rustica (protected land), of which 10000 square meters belongs to the property (to be sold seperately).
The owners will sell the property outright, or as an ongoing business, or will sell it and rent it back for a period to be agreed. All prices are negotiable.
